Hobart Beaches
If you love an ocean view and are looking to enjoy the beaches then Hobart has the perfect beaches & waterways for you. With several different beaches close by, you will never have to worry about rushing to find a spot to relax in the sun while listening to the waves roll in. Keep in mind though, it does get cold in winter so if your planning on a swim then it will be worthwhile heading to Hobart in the summer.
One of the striking features of Hobart is that it is surrounded by water which makes it home to some of the most breathtaking sand covered beaches in all of Tasmania. With many of beaches just a short hop away from the city center, they can be reached simply by visiting the nearby Derwent River on the east coast. Some of the most popular beaches include Hobart's magnificent Seven Mile Beach, Carlton Beach, Long Beach, Bicheno Beach, Clifton Beach, and Margate Beach. With the beautiful, sunny weather that Hobart has to offer its beaches are a major attraction for people from all over the world.
Seven Mile Beach is a pristine beach with clean air and sand. Perfect for shallow wading and swimming, you can also walk your dog as well as go horse riding. Clifton Beach is relatively isolated and is considered one of the best surfing beaches in Tasmania. No matter which beach you choose you will find that the surf and sand are exactly what you need to let your cares wash away.
A short drive to the North will lead you to Wineglass Bay, located in National Park lands. Wineglass Bay is definately one of the top ten beaches to visit and a definite ‘must see’ when you visit Tasmania.
